At every inspection we go up into your attic, inspect the condition of the existing insulation and ventilation, and then calculate the current levels. Your attic should contain an optimal amount. Lockhart Roofing will then determine the recommended level (R-Value) depending on the geographical area you live in. 

While achieving an R-Value of 38 is optimum in Michigan, anything over an R-Value of 38 is probably excessive. More insulation isn’t necessarily better: It could be impacting how efficiently your attic can circulate air and affecting your ROI. Determining your return on investment (ROI) comes down to dividing the benefit it will provide you, namely your energy savings over time, by the cost of the initial investment.
